WHERE: The parade assembles along Washington Square North, near the Arch and ends at LaGuardia between Washington Square South and West 3rd Street where various activities await the children.

NOTE TO PLANNING AND ASSIGNMENT EDITORS

The parade provides very good, cute, daylight shots of kids in costumes parading around the park accompanied by parents. Good complement for coverage of the adult parade.

NYU students will perform for the kids - including NYU music groups, cheerleaders, and dance teams - and assist with distributing treats. Other performers include the Break Out Off-Broadway Extreme Dance Comedy and PMT dance troupe, performing Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.”

The parade is organized and conducted in cooperation with: The Villager, McDonalds, Lucille Lortel Theater, Las Ramblas, Burrito Loco, Tio Pepe, Washington Square Hotel, Morton Williams, NYU Family Care, La Palapa Rockola, Village Cares NY, NoHo NY Bid, Bleecker Area Merchants’ Residents’ Association (BAMRA), Con Edison, NYU Administrative Management Council, Kmart, The Village Alliance, Bedford Barrow Commerce Block Association (BBC), the Greenwich Village Chelsea Chamber of Commerce (GVCCC), the Washington Square Association (WSA), and NYU’s Center for Multicultural Education and Programs.
