NYU Jazz at the Bowery Poetry Club for Three Shows

January 23, 2007
N-250, 2006-07

New York University’s Combo Nuvo & Strings (Feb. 7) and its Jazz Orchestra (March 27 and April 10) will perform at the Bowery Poetry Club (308 Bowery/betw. Bleecker and Houston). All performances begin at 10 p.m. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students (with valid ID). For more information, the public may call the Bowery Club at 212.614.0505. Subway lines: 6 (Bleecker); B, D, F, V (Broadway/Lafayette).

The online music magazine Concertlivewire recently named “NYU Jazz Orchestra Plays the Music of Teo Macero” one of the top 10 jazz albums of 2006. “That the solos throughout are so compact, yet say so much, is a testament not only to the players themselves, but also to the fine NYU program, as well as to the producer and arrangers who set the stage for their students,” JazzChicago.net’s Brad Walseth wrote of the performance.
