Who said NYU doesn't have any school spirit? Violet 100 is NYU's official spirit week produced by the NYU Student Government Assembly and Student Senator's Council.  Almost every day features an event to bring the community together. Check out our events below:


Friday to Sunday:  Hack-a-Thon

Where: Tandon School of Engineering, 6 Metro Tech

HackNYU is NYU's annual student-run hackathon, where people of all disciplines come together to create a project that addresses one of several social initiatives, or “tracks”. It takes place simultaneously in New York, Abu Dhabi and Shanghai over 48 hours. HackNYU is free, and made possible thanks to our wonderful sponsors and volunteers.

Tuesday: All-University Games

Location: Chelsea Piers, Pier 60

Enjoy an evening of good-hearted competition, spirit, and #violetpride! The All-University Games is NYU's intramural athletic competition between schools, administration and faculty teams. If you would like to participate in the games, please inquire at your school's student council. All are welcome to come watch and cheer on our teams! Stern won last year.  Who will win this year?

Shuttle Buses available as follows:

Washington Square behind Bobst Library, W 3rd and LaGuardia, starting at 3:30pm and continuing at 4pm, 4:30pm, 5pm, 6pm, 7pm, 8pm. The last bus will leave Chelsea Piers at 9:30pm.

Brooklyn (Tandon), 6 Metro Tech at the MTA Stop starting at 3:30pm and continuing each hour at 4:30pm, 5:30pm, 6:30pm, 7:30pm. The last bus will leave Chelsea Piers at 9:30pm.

Health Corridor, (Nursing, Dentistry, Med), 433 1st Avenue starting at 4:15pm and continuing at 5:30pm, 6:30pm, and 7:30pm.  The last bus will leave Chelsea Piers at 9:30pm.

* All times are approximate due to traffic and ridership. Buses are limited to capacity.


Wednesday: V100 Concert

This year we are proud to bring you Gunna, Rico Nasty, Flipp Dinero, and NXGN. NYU’s annual Violet 100 concert is presented and organized by NYU Program Board and NYU Student Government Assembly. The V100 show is one of NYU’s marquee live music events, and is our largest one of the year. In previous years the concert has featured performers such as Young Thug, Future, The Internet, 21 Savage, and Valee.

All attendees must have a valid NYU ID to enter the venue, this is a concert for NYU students only. Tickets can be purchased on AXS using the link provided in your email, or can be purchased in person at the PlayStation Theater box office, you must have a valid NYU ID to purchase tickets in person.


Thursday: The InterResidence Hall Council's (IRHC) 16th Annual UltraViolet Live

UltraViolet Live (UVL) is the final round of NYU's annual talent competition. Preliminary rounds held by the Commuter Student Council, all NYU Residence Halls, NYU Abu Dhabi, NYU Shanghai, and the Inter-Greek Council determine who continues on to Skirball's main stage where winners are awarded cash prizes!

Friday: Thank-A-Donor Event

When: Friday, February 22 at Noon to 2pm
Where: Kimmel Center, 2nd Floor Commuter Lounge

We’re showing our #VioletPride during Violet100 by thanking those who make it possible for so many of us to attend NYU.

Join us for fun, sweets, treats, and other takeaways by helping us create thank you messages for NYU scholarship supporters. Plus, all participants will be entered to win an unlimited MTA MetroCard! It’s an easy way of saying thanks to those who have done so much.  Hosted by the NYU 1831 Fund.


Saturday: Violet Ball

Have you ever wanted to party in Bobst? Now is your chance! Join us for the 30th Annual Violet Ball. Violet Ball will feature great food catered by Neuman's Kitchen, live music, dancing and clubbing, drinks (wine and beer), and best of all, dessert in the atrium of Bobst Library. Black tie optional attire;  NYU ID and Government ID is required for entry. 

*A portion of each ticket sale goes to the NYU 1831 Fund to support scholarships for incoming freshmen and transfer students. Thank you for supporting the 1831 Fund!"
