The NYU Naughty Knitters is a volunteer knitting and crocheting group, which brings together administrators, students, and alumni from across NYU to create handmade items for local charities. Funded by generous support from the AMC and the NYU Office of Civic Engagement, the Naughty Knitters have donated over 4,000 baby blankets, hats, scarves, and other items to local charities since its founding in 2004.
We meet twice each month on the Washington Square campus and once a month at the 17th Street administrative building to craft various items for charitable organizations including Care for the Homeless, Visiting Neighbors, Kitty Kind, Chemo Crochet, and the U.S.O.
Knitting and crocheting supplies are available for participants at each session. Both experienced and novice knitters and crocheters are welcome. If you would like to learn to knit or crochet or to reawaken dormant skills, we would love for you to join us in our mission of spreading warmth and love through friendship and yarn.
