Voice your choice! Elections for AMC Senators will kick off the week of May 11th. The candidates are: Caroline Boneta (Stern), Toni Depena (Dentistry), Katherine Drummond (Tisch), Daniel Holub (FAS), Pamela Kavalam (Wagner), Norma Kenigsberg (ITS), Tatum Soo Kim (SPS), Justin Lerner (Student Affairs), Raymond Lutzky (Poly), and Nadege Roc (Nursing). A link to the ballot will be emailed to all constituents at the start of the election.
The Board of Trustees has appointed Andrew Hamilton the 16th President of NYU ! Professor Hamilton, who is the Vice Chancellor of the University of Oxford, will begin in January 2016. Congratulations to the new AMC Officers! At the April general meeting, a new slate of officers was elected for the 2015-16 academic year: David Vintinner as Chair for a second term, Kristi Schwindt Ramos as Vice Chair, Shakera Jones as Treasurer, and Andrea Fannelli as Secretary. A welcome breakfast was held to provide a meet and greet opportunity between the AMC Officers, Committee Chairs and the newly elected representatives.
The AMC joined Government & Community Affairs in sponsoring the annual Holiday Toy Drive. The NYU community collected over 700 new toys and books in the drive this year. Items were distributed to the children of the 9th Police Precinct at a holiday party. Toys were also distributed to the children of the Birch Family Services. Thank you to the NYU community for its generosity during this holiday season!
