Voice your choice! Elections for AMC Senators will kick off the week of May 11th. The candidates are: Caroline Boneta (Stern), Toni Depena (Dentistry), Katherine Drummond (Tisch), Daniel Holub (FAS), Pamela Kavalam (Wagner), Norma Kenigsberg (ITS), Tatum Soo Kim (SPS), Justin Lerner (Student Affairs), Raymond Lutzky (Poly), and Nadege Roc (Nursing). A link to the ballot will be emailed to all constituents at the start of the election.

The Board of Trustees has appointed Andrew Hamilton the 16th President of NYU ! Professor Hamilton, who is the Vice Chancellor of the University of Oxford, will begin in January 2016. We thank AMC Chair David Vintinner for his service on the Presidential Search Committee. Learn more about our incoming president on the President-Designate website

Congratulations to the new AMC Officers! At the April general meeting, a new slate of officers was elected for the 2015-16 academic year: David Vintinner as Chair for a second term, Kristi Schwindt Ramos as Vice Chair, Shakera Jones as Treasurer, and Andrea Fannelli as Secretary. Results of the Representative elections for the 2015-17 term are available here.

  • The Superblock Stewardship Advisory Committee has been established to provide advice to the University and a forum for consultation on quality-of-life issues on both blocks before, during, and after construction on the superblocks. The AMC is represented on the committee by Barbara Albrecht; please contact Barbara if you have any questions or feedback.
  • A Protection of Minors Steering Committee has been established by the Provost and the Executive Vice President for Operations to advise about the safety, welfare, and protection of minors involved in events and programs at NYU. Justine Kelly-Fierro represents the AMC on the steering committee.

Year-End Meeting and Luncheon

Join us for lunch at the AMC's final meeting of the academic year. The Year-End Meeting will include special remarks by Deputy President Diane Yu on the presidential transition. Other council business includes statements by Senator candidates, committee summaries, and our annual raffle. Please bring a donation for our annual Book and a Buck collection supporting two NYC public schools. RSVP online by May 1.

A welcome breakfast was held to provide a meet and greet opportunity between the AMC Officers, Committee Chairs and the newly elected representatives.   


Holiday Toy Drive

The AMC - Making Spirits Bright!

The AMC joined Government & Community Affairs in sponsoring the annual Holiday Toy Drive. The NYU community collected over 700 new toys and books in the drive this year. Items were distributed to the children of the 9th Police Precinct at a holiday party. Toys were also distributed to the children of the Birch Family Services. Thank you to the NYU community for its generosity during this holiday season!
