President Sexton has appeared on television to discuss major initiatives and ideas that have defined his tenure at the University, including the notion of the university as enterprise, the idea of the university as sacred space, and the hope that the modern university can salvage civil discourse from its trending towards dogmatism.  Memorably, President Sexton also appeared on Comedy Central program "The Colbert Report," defending higher learning and knowledge to the show's comedic, contrary host Stephen Colbert.
