Sheila joined the Wasserman Center in 2009 shortly after receiving her BA in Psychology from NYU. She is an Administrative Aide and volunteer career counselor by day at the Center, and a student by night in NYU Steinhardt’s Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness MA program. In her current role at the Wasserman Center, Sheila leads a team of up to 20 part-time student employees in connecting students, alumni, employers, parents, and faculty with the Center’s resources. She also helps manage the Wasserman Center’s job posting site, NYU CareerNet, assisting students and employers with their accounts and finding new ways to make the site user-friendly. Sheila appreciates that no two days are the same in her job, just as each person’s path is unique. She loves being able to hear the needs and goals of everyone who walks through the door before guiding them to their next steps.
Sheila is a wellness enthusiast who enjoys helping people identify and pursue their career development and health-related goals. In her spare time, she dedicates herself to carving out said spare time, running marathons, taking dance lessons, becoming a better vegan, and learning to like cats.
