Ron Robin is Senior Vice Provost for Planning, responsible for academic planning, including faculty recruitment and the operations of the Office of Faculty Resources, including the Center for Teaching Excellence, and the Faculty Resource Network. As Senior Vice Provost of NYU Abu Dhabi, his duties include faculty recruitment, the activities of the faculty Coordinating Groups, and design of the Preparatory Program.
In 2004 Dr. Robin joined the Faculty of the Department of Media Culture and Communication at NYU’s Steinhardt School of Culture Education and Human Development, where he assumed the duties of associate dean for academic affairs at NYU Steinhardt. He is the author of several books, including Scandals and Scoundrels: Seven Cases that Shook the Academy (University of California Press, 2004) and The Making of the Cold War Enemy: Culture and Politics in the Military-Intellectual Complex (Princeton University Press, 2001).
Prior to joining NYU Dr. Robin taught U.S. history and communication theory at the University of Haifa, Israel, where he also served for five years as dean of students. Dr. Robin’s undergraduate degree is from the Hebrew University, Jerusalem (Romance Languages and History). He holds a Ph.D. in history from the University of California at Berkeley.
