Ben Maddox currently serves NYU as Associate Vice President for Global Technology, focusing on global project management, global service delivery and support for technology enhanced education goals.
Ben approaches technology with a people first philosophy, where technology is a means of connection. In his current position he works to identify and implement in common services across NYU’s global sites. Ben oversees new service roll-outs across the globe, ensuring smooth delivery. He also leads the effort to systemize project management at NYU with a goal to increase efficiency, facilitate reporting, and inform future work. In his newest area of focus, Ben is developing a service model for enhanced online classes, part of the new Teaching and Learning initiative.
Ben sees a university without barriers that leverages the gifts of place. He is proud of the information available to NYU students all around the world and is excited to be part of the university’s dynamic vision.
In previous roles at NYU, Ben led Global project and service management initiatives as Executive Program Director in ITS, he served at the Interim Chief Information Officer for the launch of the NYU Abu Dhabi technology program and Director of ITS Client Services. Maddox has a Masters degree and advanced studies in Educational Technology from NYU where he concentrated on the relationship between technology and motivated learners. He also holds certificates in a number of technology and management areas and has an undergraduate degree from Baylor University.
