Erum Raza is the Acting Chief Global Compliance Officer at New York University. Erum leads NYU’s Office of Compliance and Risk Management and oversees the University’s Compliance Programs at NYU’s three degree-granting campuses in New York, Abu Dhabi, and Shanghai and 11 academic sites in Accra, Berlin, Buenos Aires, Florence, London, Madrid, Paris, Prague, Sydney, Tel Aviv, and Washington, D.C.
Erum served as the Chief Compliance and Risk Officer at NYU Abu Dhabi for six years where she had oversight for NYUAD’s Compliance and Risk Management Program, working in close collaboration with NYUAD’s academic and administrative departments to facilitate compliance with policies, laws and regulations, and risk management. At NYUAD, Erum also worked closely with NYUAD’s government partner, Tamkeen, on various compliance, risk management, and government relations matters.
Erum has also guest lectured at NYU Stern, NYU Abu Dhabi and NYU Shanghai on various topics, including, ethics, labor and economics, business and human rights, social responsibility, and international business law.
Erum received her law degree from Rutgers School of Law, where she was the Managing Editor of the Rutgers Computer and Technology Law Journal. Erum is an attorney admitted to practice in the US in the states of New York and New Jersey. She is also a Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (2018) and Certified Public Accountant (2002).
