Dan received his J.D. from Fordham University’s School of Law, he received his B.S. from New York University in History & Communications, and he received his M.A. from Columbia University's Graduate School of Arts and Sciences in American Studies. Immediately before joining NYU, Dan was an associate in the Labor & Employment Law Department at Proskauer and Co-Chair of the firm's Hiring & Background Checks Group. While at Proskauer, Dan authored and was quoted in hundreds of articles, and contributed to several books. He was named one of the Top 50 "New Leaders of the Bar" in the July 2014 edition of the New Jersey Law Journal and as a “Rising Star” in the 2014 and 2015 editions of New Jersey Super Lawyers. The Animal Legal Defense Fund, Proskauer, and the Empire State Counsel also recognized his contributions to pro bono. Prior to his legal career, Dan served as an Adjunct Professor of History at William Paterson University and Bergen Community College.
