The Institute for the Study of the Ancient World is a center for advanced scholarly research and graduate education aimed to encourage the study of the economic, religious, political and cultural connections between ancient civilizations.  ISAW is a discrete entity within NYU, with its own endowment and its own board of trustees.

Director, Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences 
The Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences is a center for research and advanced training in mathematics and computer science.  It hosts NYU's department of mathematics and computer science and the Center for Atmosphere-Ocean Science.

The Office of the Dean for Humanities, under the Faculty of Arts and Science, develops academic strategy and maintains academic excellence in the humanities programs in the College of Arts and Science (CAS) and the Graduate School of Arts and Science (GSAS).

Herman Robert Fox Dean, College of Dentistry
The College of Dentistry offers training in predoctoral and postdoctoral programs in dentistry, dental hygiene and nursing.  It also offers several M.S. programs and a Ph.D. program in epidemiology in collaboration with Columbia, Johns Hopkins, and Yale Universities.  It is part of the NYU Catastrophe Preparedness and Response Center, and through its alliance with the College of Nursing offers degrees and advanced certificates in nursing.

The Liberal Studies Program is a two-year foundation program for students who will complete their education in one of the university's other undergraduate schools.
