StaffChristopher BledsoeNYU Department of Athletics, Intramurals and Recreation Christopher Bledsoe has been New York University's Director of Athletics, Intramurals and Recreation since September 1996. He directs an athletics program that includes 24 varsity sports, 19 club sports, 13 intramural sports, and a recreation program that includes over 500 class offerings. Bledsoe also oversees the operation of both of NYU's athletic facilities: the Jerome S. Coles Sports and Recreation Center (on the corner of Mercer and Bleecker streets) and the Palladium Athletic Facility (140 East 14th Street). Along with his NYU responsibilities, Bledsoe also serves as a director of the Metropolitan Intercollegiate Basketball Association (MIBA), the sponsoring body of the National Invitation Tournament. While at NYU, Bledsoe has also served on the NCAA Division III Management Council. Prior to joining NYU, Bledsoe served as the Director of Athletics and Intramurals at Pace University in Pleasantville, NY, from 1988-1996. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Fairfield University in 1980 and a master of business administration degree from Pace in 1992. A native of Dubuque, Iowa, and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Bledsoe currently resides in LaGrangeville, NY, with his wife, Marlene Stager, and their three sons: Jordan, Dylan and Ethan. |
